30 Weeks.

Here we are at 30 weeks! I realized this baby could be here in 7 weeks, probably later, hopefully not sooner! That just isn't a long time from now!
I'm hoping she moves while she's sleeping, otherwise we have a little "hyper-hypo" on our hands, she moves a lot. I'm beginning to see my belly jump when she kicks and can see her rolling around and I think I felt a tiny foot the other day. When Phil feels these he screams like a girl. I've been known to scream too!
We're getting very anxious to meet this little one!

Asparagus.

Y'all, I've never seen asparagus this big! Some members of ours got this from their garden and gave us a bag full. We can live off this for months!

Fortunately it cooks down! Yum!

Confirmation.

This Sunday was confirmation day. Here is the confirmation class of 2008, Phil's first, Eric, Drake, KateLynn and Makala.

All Nighter.

Friday night Phil had an "all nighter" at the church with our Jr. High Catechism students. They have such an amazing ability to consume food and to not need sleep. They played some games and went over to the school to run around in the gym. Then came back to the church to eat more and continue to not require sleep.

By 3:30 Phil and I, not being Jr. High kids, were pretty useless just waiting for 7am and a nice soft bed. I only made it until 4. Phil's the real hero of this story.

He put a movie on and to his surprise the kids became sleepier and sleepier finally drifting off to sleep. Then he made them all get up and clean up their mess.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was Phil's 29th birthday! He was surprised with a wonderful breakfast of all his favorites; hash browns, boiled eggs, bacon and homemade biscuits. He's such a lucky boy! Also, he finally got to open his cards and a present from my mom. Little did he know that the day would hold another surprise that evening, a secret meatball and spaghetti supper with some good friends! I'd busied myself all week plotting right under his nose and it really paid off.

Phil arrived home hoping to run off and play some basketball then have a quiet evening. I think he enjoyed what I had planned for him instead.

I made baked spaghetti for the guests and myself, but Phil will have no part of spaghetti with meat in the sauce. He's a strictly meatballs guy. He had his own birthday boy plate. These happen to be the best meatballs I've ever made. Believe it or not, I didn't, he ate all of this.

And a chocolate chip birthday cake. He did not eat all of this. I almost did though.

My surprise party went very well. I think I'll do it again next year.

Spring in the village.

Spring is finally here. At last, warm days, cool nights, short sleeves and more green than I'd ever imagined. Surviving such long winters does make you appreciate the newness and life Springtime brings.

Phil and I express our appreciation by taking time to smell the JAPANESE magnolia tree in our friend Eldon's yard.

Eldon is letting Phil and I use his garden this year! Here is the future home of sweet corn, tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, peppers, lettuce and of course more onions than we'll know what to do with!

Gone To Texas!

In April, Lily and I spent a whole week in Austin! It was great to be with family and friends again after so long. Highlights included; amazing food I missed so much, a baby shower, Mama's 60th birthday celebration, food, going to Starbucks, family coming all the way from Alabama, food, late nights, early mornings and did I mention food?

Monday was Mama's birthday. It was a day full of surprises, special features, balloons and FOOD!

After a fast and busy week it was time to get home to good ole' Nebraska where my sweet husband and countless naps awaited my return.

Sunday afternoon my wonderful ladies hosted a baby shower at my former church. It was great to see so many people again and get some cute things for Lily!
